Congregational Life provides Christian support and caring to our CUMC community and beyond. We categorize our congregation life efforts into three main groups - Member Care, Fellowship Events, and Welcoming New people.
Care Team: Our Care Team is a group of caring CUMC community members. This group keeps an ongoing prayer chain and provides meals and person-to-person support for CUMC individuals, families or groups going through illness, recovery, or other stressful events.
Knitting Knot: Knitting Knot is a group that knits shawls, scarves, hats and other items for those suffering from illness, loss and or recovery. The Knitting Knot meets on the second Sunday of each month at 11:30am in the social hall and kitchen. All experienced knitters or those who want to learn are welcome.
Friends of Grads: This committee is devoted to encouraging our high school graduates. Our plan is to invest in them as they step out into independence. It's such a time of decisions and we want them to know how much we care about each one. High school seniors who wish to apply for a $1000 scholarship can pick up an application form in the church office, at Sunday School or Youth Group. Funds will be distributed at the successful completion of one year's post-high school education.
Pastoral Care and Counseling
Stephen Ministries: High-quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are hurting.
Men’s Breakfast: At the Men’s Breakfast we cook together and eat together and have a great time. All men are welcome.
Book Club: CUMC Book club meets one Friday evening a month at a congregation member’s house.
Hiking Club: CUMC hikes every month! The hike is in the general bay area and is typically the first or second Saturday of the month.
GEMS: God’s Energetic Messengers meet the last Monday of the month in the Social Hall for a presentation and potluck.
Yearly Retreat at Monte Toyon in Aptos, CA (springtime).
Fun Events and Outings: Rummage Sale, Women’s Tea Party, etc.
Welcoming New Members:
